Under- 12 football squad selected for Kwamikrom zone

Kwamikrom, Jan.30, GNA - The Kwamikrom Zone in the Jasikan district of the Volta Region has organized a football gala at which an 18 - member squad of under 12 footballers have been selected to represent the zone in the inter-zonal competition.

The gala saw six clubs competing in a highly competitive atmosphere watched by a large crowd of enthusiastic people cheering the youthful lads to show case their brand of soccer.

Mr Stephen Okpalu, the Kwamikrom zonal sports organizer told the GNA Sports at Kwamikrom after the one-day gala at the Roman Catholic park at Kwamikrom at the week-end.

He said that the zone was putting everything in place to ensure that they achieve success at the inter-zonal competition scheduled to come on at the Nkonya Secondary School between 3rd to 6th February this year. Mr Okpalu said the zonal gala competitions are the prelude to pick a formidable team to represent the Jasikan District in an inter-district gala at Peki towards selecting a regional squad.

The results of the gala matches were, Fahiakobor settled to a goalless draw game with Takrabe line, Roman Catholic lost to Evangelical Presbyterian by 3 goals to one, Abudu also beat Takrabe line by two goals to nil, Fahiabobor also beat Roman Catholic by two goals to nil while Evangelical Presbyterian beat Abudu by two goals to nil.
