U-20 paid US$ 9,000 qualification bonus

Each Ghana U-20 player has been paid US$ 9,000 for qualifying to the round of 16 at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Black Satellites advanced to the knock-out round as one of four best third-placed finishers from the Group stage.

Ghana’s progress was aided by Egypt’s 2-0 win over England in their final Group F match played on Saturday.

But Sellas Tetteh’s side had put themselves in a qualifying position after thumping USA 4-1 last Thursday.

The 2009 champions lost two matches in Group A and finished behind leaders Spain and France.

Ghana will face Portugal on Wednesday in Kayseri for a place to the last eight of the tournament.
