U-20 WC: Suspended trio return for Ghana

The three players who missed the semi final clash with France on Wednesday have return into the starting lineup for Saturdays third place game against Iraq in Istanbul at the FIFA World Cup in Turkey.

Captain Lawrence Lartey and his centre-back partner Joseph Attamah and Moses Odjer were banned for one match after yellow card accumulation. However, defender Princebell Addico, who made his full debut against France, gets the chance to play his third game of the championship against Iraq in place of Richmond Nketia.

Siedu Salifu moves back to his holding midfield role and will be partnered by Clifford Aboagye. Kennedy Ashia retains his position to strike behind the tournament’s joint top scorer Ebenezer Assifuah.

Ghana have never won a bronze medal in the history of the tournament. The last time Ghana played in the third place game was back in 1997, but the Black Satellites were beaten 2-1 by the Republic of Ireland.
