Two companies give to Queens

Accra, July 30, GNA- Two companies and an individual on Wednesday presented a number of items to the Black Queens, the women national team who are now preparing for the Women World Cup slated for the United States in September.

Coco-Cola Ghana Limited presented 60 boxes of Dasani bottled water worth three million cedis while Faytex, presented 150 packs of sanitary pads worth 630,000 cedis.

Mrs Etwi -Barima of the Tema Golf Club, the individual, gave the team eight pairs of gloves and 18 pairs of wrists bands.. The donations are in response to an appeal for fund launched on behalf of the Queens by the Women Sports Association of Ghana (WOSPAG).

Veteran skipper Alberta Sackey received the items on behalf of her colleagues at a ceremony at the Accra sports stadium.

Nana Yaw Mantey, a representative of Coco Cola, said the company was inspired by the exploits of the Queens.

The Queens are scheduled to leave for the United Kingdom this week for their final brush up to psyche them up for the tournament.
