Travel Agency boss denies link with supporters group

Accra, Aug. 1, GNA - Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh, Chief Executive Officer of Bahmed Travel and Tours Company has denied having links with any of the supporters' bodies in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Accra on Wednesday in reaction to reports in sections of the media of his association with the unions, Alhaji Bahmed said he is an accredited agent of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and not of any group of people. According to Alhaji Bahmed his association with the ministry is purely on merit, adding "I bided for the contract and won it, so I have no relationship with any of the supporters groups in the country". Alhaji Bahmed said he came into contact with the supporters body during the 2006 World Cup qualifiers when he was tasked by the ministry to provide chartered flights for the team and wondered why he is being accused of as being behind the activities of sections of the supporters bodies.

He took the opportunity to however urge the public to be cautious when dealing with any of the supporter's bodies in the country. The Chief Executive Officer cautioned that such groups could be fraudulent in their dealings, and advised that individuals with an interest in watching matches outside the country should use the appropriate channels so as not to be short-changed. 01 Aug. 07
