Third Areeba draw selects 37 more subscribers

Accra, April 28, GNA - The third batch of thirty seven Areeba cellular phone subscribers on Friday won the company's raffle to travel to Germany to cheer Ghana's national team, the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup tournament in June this year.

The draw which was made on Friday, is the third thus bringing the number of winners so far to 111 out of the 200 subscribers earmarked by Areeba to reward its loyal subscribers.

The draws will continue till May 12, this year.

Mr Percival Addy a Senior Associate of KPMG, a firm of International Chartered Accountants, who are conducting the draws as event statisticians, said a total of 1,145,962 entries representing 1,086,923 recharging subscribers and 59,039 newly activated lines between April 12 and April 26, were entered for the third draw. The raffle aims to reward 150 pre-paid customers and 50 post-paid clients with an all-expenses paid trip to cheer Ghana's Black Stars in Germany.

Mr Ebenezer Addo-Bulley, a 73-year old football fan and resident of Kaneshie in Accra and a winner in one of the two previous draws, who had completed the process of acquiring his visa for the trip to Germany, shared his joy in a short speech.

"It's a miracle", he said: "I have never travelled to Germany before and I really look forward to it. 'To God be the glory'", he added.

Each of the winners will be provided with letters from Areeba to enable them to secure visas for the trip, while winners who do not intend to travel to Germany can transfer the offer to any subscriber of their choice.

Mr Addy said the electronic draws had made the process very transparent and gave a fair chance to all participants to be selected.
