'The Chelsea Place' launches 2006 World Cup offer for fans

Accra, May 26, 96 As part of plans to whip up massive support for the senior national team, the Black Stars, 91The Chelsea Place=92, the latest sports club in the capital city of Accra is offering fans the opportunity to follow the exploits of the team at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Fans will have the pleasure of watching friendly and competitive games of the Black Stars on a giant television screen under serene conditions at 'The Chelsea Place'.

Mr Sam Adabla, a Director of the spot told the GNA Sports that Ghana's qualification to the World Cup is historic, hence the need for the entire nation to rally behind the team f to ensure their successful maiden appearance.

He said 'The Chelsea Place' is therefore determined to provide Ghanaians a unifying atmosphere to watch the team in action. The Chelsea Place is located on the Ring Road East, two kilometres from Danquah Circle, a walking distance from Labone junction and next to Omari Bookshop.

Aside its unique atmosphere, fans will also experience the luxury of having drinks and meals of their choice at competitive prices while watching the games.

For a start, the Black Stars international friendly game against Turkey in Bochum, Germany on May 25 and the second friendly game against Jamaica on May 29, in Leicester City, England will be beamed lived at 'THE CHELSEA PLACE'.

This will be followed by the Stars final World Cup game against South Korea in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Mr Adabla said the balcony bar also presents patrons with a splendid view of the Ringway as they follow action on the screens.

He expressed the hope that the package would whip up the needed support for the Stars, adding that other sporting activities such as the CAF Champions League games and the UEFA competitions would also be transmitted to fans.
