Tetteh gets CAF appointment

Accra, Aug. 24, GNA - Alhaji Ibrahim Sly Tetteh, President of Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals has earned an appointment with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for his contribution towards the development of the sport.

Alhaji Tetteh will serve on the Organising Committee for the African Futsal Championship.

Burkina Faso will host the fifth edition of the five-a-side indoor football tournament in 2010.

A CAF source told GNA Sports that Alhaji Tetteh was included on the Committee due to his vast experience in the development of the game in the sub-region.

The members of the Committee which were made public on August 3, has CAF Vice President and President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Molefi Oliphant as President. Nigerian and West Africa Football Union (WAFU) President, Dr Amos Adamu is the Vice President.

Other members are Manga Obiang Bonifacio (Equatorial Guinea), Nahim Khadi (Sierra Leone), Jos=E9 Medina Lobato (Guinea Bissau), Solomon Ogba (Nigeria), Adoum Younousmi (Chad) and Al Saidi Abdelsalam (Libya). Alhaji Tetteh who is credited with the rise to fame of players such as Michael Essien (Chelsea), Derek Boateng (Getafe), Asamoah Gyan (Stade Rennais) and Kwadwo Asamoah also serves on the Marketing and Sponsorship Committees of WAFU.
