Tension In Hearts Over Zakkour & Lachman

TENSION and controversy has begun brewing in Hearts of Oak between the management and some board members after they were rocked with the news last Friday that their Israeli coach, Eyal Lachman had tendered in his resignation. In the ensuing confusion, Harry Zakkour, the acting Chairman of the club also resigned the next day after learning that clandestine moves were being made to re-instate Lachman behind his back. Reliable reports received by 90 Minutes indicates that soon after the Hearts Administrative Manager, Ashford Tetteh Oku relayed the news to some board and management members informing them of Lachman's decision, heads were divided immediately, sparking tension with some management members pointing accusing fingers at each other for forcing the coach out. Speaking to one prominent board member of the club soon after the news got to him on Friday night, he had this to say: ?Lachman's resignation was initiated by some officials of the club because they were not happy with his selection policy which they say is responsible for our abysmal performances. But forcing him out would not solve our problems because personally I believe the coach did his best for the team under the circumstances?.

Meanwhile Harry Zakkour claims he resigned from Hearts of Oak because he could no longer work together with Lachman if the Israeli is made to rescind his decision. On his part Eyal Lachman has told 90 Minutes: ?I resigned from the club because I received virtually no support from the management. Most of them wanted me out because I refused to use their players who in my estimation were not in the best of conditions to play for the club. The hullabaloo about my selection policy was getting out of hand with no support from the top so I had no option but to stepdown?. The Israeli added.
