Johannesburg, June 25, GNA - Anthony Annan, Black Stars tireless midfielder believes the team will get better in the 1/16 stage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, as they take on United States of America on Saturday. Speaking at Press Conference on Thursday, he said the team would be working on their weaknesses in the course of the week and expressed the hope that they will be corrected for a better delivery.

"We have some days ahead of the game. It should be enough for us to plan for victory," he noted.

He said, the team has realised the difficulties in converting the numerous scoring chances they created in each game, but added that the situation will be different in the next game.

Annan said they are keen on moving to the quarter finals of the competition and will not leave any stone unturned to reach that target. He reckoned that, the attacking machinery of the team has not been sharp but said "the USA game will be different, because we are at the knock out stages and we need goals to stay in the competition".

"It is not our intention to go to the field and wait for penalty before we score. We have been doing our best to score in the run of play, but we have not been successful. It is one area we have to work on, before we go into the next game."

Annan waded into the Jabulani controversy saying the ball is quite difficult to play, because it runs faster than expected.

"At training we have a lot of difficulties with it, but we have to manage it because that is the official football for the competition."
