Supporter urges Black Stars to maintain form

Aflao, Jan 7, GNA - The Volta Regional Coordinator of the Ghana Supporters Union, (GHANSU) Mr Yaw Ledi has urged the Black Stars to maintain their current tempo of determination to ensure success at the up-coming MTN African Cup of Nations Tournament despite any shortcomings. He said the exclusion of Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston, two key players in the squad due to injuries should not discourage them but the playhers must turned their absence into a source of courage to win victory for the country.

Mr Ledi assured the team of the needed massive and solid support to spur them unto victory.

The Regional Coordinator in an interview with the GNA Sports after a general meeting of the Ketu District Chapter of the Union at the weekend at Aflao, wished the two key players speedy recovery adding that GHANSU was behind them with prayers.

Mr Ledi at the general meeting asked the Supporters Union and Ghanaians at large to remain disciplined as they play host to a large number of fellow African and foreign football fans to avoid any unwelcome conduct.

He said the country's image as a peaceful nation needs to be protected towards making the country a preferred tourism destination even long after the tournament.

Mr Samuel Olata, Ketu District Chairman of GHANSU who is also a staff of CEPS at Aflao asked the people to help protect the large number of visitors expected to pass through the Aflao border from falling prey to criminals and other miscreants.
