Super Cup game to honour late Sly Tetteh

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that the Super Cup match to herald the start of the new season will be played in honour of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Sly Tetteh.

Premier League champions, Berekum Chelsea will take on FA Cup winners FC Nania for the opening match of the season on October 2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to the GFA, the game will honour the memory of the former Liberty Professionals President, who passed away on September 3 and was buried in accordance with Islamic traditions, the day after.

The Super Cup is played between the premiership champion and FA Cup winner to precede the start of the football season.

Both clubs will meet the media in a pre-game press conference on Friday, September 30.
