Sudan-Ghana WC Qualifier to kick off at 17HRS GMT

The Black Stars’ 4th Group D fixture of the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers away to Sudan in Khartoum has been confirmed to kick off at 17hrs GMT (8pm local time in Sudan) on Friday, June 7.

After being hammered 4-0 in Kumasi three months ago, Sudan will be facing Ghana with an entirely new squad survived by only 5 of the players who made the Kumasi trip.

AllSports understands a quartet of Senegalese referees have been appointed to control affairs at the Khartoum Stadium next Friday evening.

The Black Stars have set camp in East African country Ethiopia for acclimatization and get used to an astro turf surface in preparation towards the game. The team will leave Addis Ababa for Khartoum on June 5.

Ghana play Sudan in Khartoum on June 7 before flying out to Maseru to meet Lesotho on June 16 in the penultimate second round fixture.

The Black Stars, chasing a third consecutive appearance at the World Cup finals are just one point adrift leaders, Zambia with three matches left to play in the second round of qualifying.
