Steve Polack to leave King Faisal

Kumasi, July 22, GNA - Steve Polack, head coach of King Faisal FC, has announced his decision not to renew his contract with the Kumasi-based club following the completion of the 2008/2009 Glo Premier League.

The expatriate Finland coach was hired by the management of Faisal in the latter part of the first round of the League to replace Rashid Iddrisu, at a time the Club was finding things tough going.

By dint of hard work and technical expertise, Coach Polack steered Faisal from the bottom rungs of the League table to assume the fourth position and thus qualifying the Club for this year's CAF Confederation's Cup.

The coach has, however, in recent times been on collision course with some of the management members of Faisal complaining about what he describes as "interference in his job."

In an interview with the GNA Sports in Kumasi, coach Polack said he had had enough of the challenges that go with coaching of the Kumasi-based Club and that he would be heading back to his country, Finland.

Coach Polack denied rumors that some local clubs, including Accra Hearts of Oak had approached him with the view to contracting him for the 2009/2010 Premier League.

"I am not interested in working with any local club but look forward to working in Europe", he told the GNA Sports. Meanwhile, the management of Faisal on Tuesday held a party for the playing body for their hard work in the League.
