Stars to play Stuttgart and Russian Clubs

According to the Ghana Football Association website, the senior national team, the Black Stars, will continue their build up to the Germany 2006 World Cup finals with three friendly matches against club sides.

The Black Stars would first play Bundesliga club, VFB Stuttgart in Wurzburg ? Ghana?s world camp base in Germany on April 26.

VFB Stuttgart are presently seventh on the German Bundesliga table seeking an place in UEFA competitions next season.

Then the Black Stars would take on two Russian first division club sides, Anji Mahachkala and Terek Grozniy.

The Black Stars will play Terek Grozniy on 8 May, before taking on Anji Mahachkala on 11 May in Russia before the deadline for the submission of final squad lists for the World Cup.

Black Stars coach, Ratomir Dujkovic, will use the games to assess the prospective players who will make the final squad to be present to FIFA before the May 15 deadline.

Ghana had originally planned to take advantage of a 12-day break in the German Bundesliga to play, Hannover, this month.

But the German club pulled out of the game, citing organizational problems
