Stars leave tomorrow

THE senior national soccer team, the Black Stars, are scheduled to leave for Kampala tomorrow to play their Ugandan counterparts in an African Nations Cup qualified on Saturday.

The Stars, whose international friendly against Obilic in Belgrade was called off at the last hour, are currently camping at Wangara Hotel and finalising preparations for the crucial away duel.

So far, Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari and John Mensah are already in camp together with six local players; Sammy Adjei, George Owu, Daniel Yeboah, Joe Hendricks, Charles Taylor and Edmund Copson.

Yesterday, four other foreign-based players — Hans Adu-Sarpei, Derrick Boateng, Kofi Amponsah and Dan Edusei — were also expected to arrive in the country.

The rest of the invited foreign-based players, including Otto Addo, Christian Gyan, Michael Essien, Abdul Razak, and Augustine Ahinful, are expected to fly down from their respective European bases today and tomorrow.
