Stars begin camping

Accra, Nov 10, GNA - The senior national team, the Black Stars, will on Tuesday, November 11, assemble at the Wangara Hotel in Accra to begin camping for the first leg World Cup Qualifying match against Somalia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 16.

Information gathered from the technical men of the Black Stars by the GNA Sports revealed that the stars will comprise 15 locally based players with seven foreign-based players joining the team from Europe. The local players invited to camp are George Owu, Dan Yeboah, Micheal Asante, Aziz Ansah, Yussif Chibsah, Joe Hendricks and Nana Arhin Duah from the camp of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, while Sammy Adjei, Lawrence Adjei, Dan Coleman and Bernard Don Bortey from the camp of Accra Hearts of Oak.

The rest are Hamza Mohamed and Kojo Poku from King Faisal, with William Tierro and Asamoah Gyan from Liberty Professionals. However, two other locally based players Edmund Owusu-Ansah and Frank Osei from Kotoko have been put on stand by the technical men of the Black Stars.

The seven foreign-based players invited are Samuel Osei-Kuffour, Isaac Boakye coming from Germany, while Stephen Appiah and John Mensah will be joining the team from Italy.

Yakubu Abubakari will be coming from Holland, Emmanuel Pappoe from Israel and Micheal Essien from France to make up the squad. According to the information all the foreign-based players have expressed their intention join the team and are expected in Accra by the close of Tuesday.

The team will train every morning at the Nania Park, Legon and continue with the evening sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
