Hearts thrash Arsenals
Defending Ghanaian league champions, Accra Hearts of Oak, thrashed newly promoted Berekum Arsenals 6-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Hearts scored three of their goals in the first half, through Edmund Copson, Charles Taylor and Ishmael Addo. After the break Awuley Quaye, who had substituted Taylor, added his name to the Hearts onslaught as he grabbed a brace.

Emmanuel Donkor, who in turn replaced Ishmael Addo, also added his name to the score sheet to round off the romp with the sixth goal.

In other league matches, Asante Kotoko continued on their winning spree as they defeated Dawu Youngsters 2-0 thanks to an own goal and with Godwin Ablordey converting a penalty before the filled to capacity Kumasi Sports Stadium.

Obuasi Goldfields managed to silence Maxbees FC 6-2 at the Len Clay Stadium, while Real Tamale United failed to take the maximum three points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Liberty Professionals at Tamale.

Okwawu United also settled for a 1-1 scoreline with King Faisal at the Nkawkaw Park whereas Sekondi Hasaacas ran out 2-0 victors over Tano Bofoakwa. Great Olympics once again settled for a share of the spoils, this time goalless in a 0-0 draw with GHAPOHA FC at the Tema Park.
