Special Oldies League commences on Saturday

Accra, August 5, GNA - The Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) will on August 7, commence a special league competition dubbed "Oldies League" at various centers in Accra.

The league, which will be played every fortnight will feature former national stars as well as other retired footballers.

A statement signed by Willie Klutse, Public Relations Officer of REFAG copied to GNA Sports said, the competition is expected to attract players who are 38 years and above.

The statement said players like Mohammed Ahmed Polo, Ibrahim Sunday, Tony Baffoe and Amoah Tawiah and other national stars will take part in the league.

According to the statement, Nungua Old Stars will lock horns with Accra Old Stars at the Nungua Town Park, with Cosmos Oldies taking on Tema Ex-Footballers at the Cosmos School Park.

It added that Teshie Old Stars will battle Mantse Agbona Old Stars at the Methodist School Park, whilst the Azumah Nelson Complex will have Friends Old Stars facing Scarp Rangers.

At the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman, Liberty Oldies will play Nima Old Stars with the Veterans Club taking on Legend Old Stars at the Tema Twidiase Park (Site7).

Newtown Oldies will play La Old Stars at the Police Park with Uncle Old Stars hosting Accra East Old Stars.

The statement urged all soccer fans to visit the various league centers to be part of the special League and to cheer up their old soccer stars.
