Soccer star appeals for support

Nkoranza (B/A) Sept 2, GNA - Master Eric Owusu, a 15-year-old Form Two student of the Nkoranza Roman Catholic Junior Secondary School (JSS) has appealed to sports personalities and philanthropists to adopt and support him to develop his soccer talents.

Master Owusu, from Bonsu, a farming community in the district, told the GNA Sports that because his father had separated from his mother, he was finding it difficult to continue with his education.

He said he is now in the care of an uncle, one Mr. Adu Fosu at Nkoranza as his father does not care about him or his siblings and the mother is a poor farmer.

Master Owusu, was a member of the Nkoranza District soccer team in the 2001 Inter-District Brong-Ahafo basic schools under-12 soccer competition held at Sunyani and endeared himself creditably, helping his side to place third at the end of the festival.

Many soccer enthusiasts interviewed by the GNA Sports expressed the need for the general public to consider the plight of Master Owusu and assist him to achieve his goal of becoming an icon in Ghana football.
