Six Players Join Stars

Six local players have been invited to join the Black Stars to prepare for their impending international friendly against Sierra Leone. The players are Nana Arhin-Duah (Kotoko), Kenneth Ababio and Solomon Laryea (Goldfield), Mustapha Essuman and Emmanuel Pappoe (Liberty Professional) and Johnson Eklu formerly of Okwawu United. Stand-in coach E. K. Afranie told the GNA Sports in Accra that the invited players are expected to augment the present crop of local players already in camp.

Players of Kotoko would join their club on Monday evening to prepare for their second leg match against Congo in the African Cup Winners Cup match. Coach Afranie said the team would continue with its training sessions while an 18-man contingent leaves Accra on Wednesday for Sierra Leone to play the Lone Stars, their national team.

The stars are scheduled to play their first match on Saturday October 19 and last match on Tuesday October 23. They would then break camp after the two friendlies but would re-assemble later for other assignments.
