Shilla Alhassan Signs Up For B/A United

Former Asante Kotoko and Real Tamale United striker Shilla Alhassan has signed a season long contract with second-tier side BA United in a bid to revive his career.

The Sunyani-based side have also captured former Berekum Chelsea and Hearts Of Oak attacke Richard Atika to aid their promotion to the top flight after a seven year absence.

The two former Premier League duo debuted for the Division One side and both showed glimpses of their old selves with Shilla receiving a lot of cheers from the fans at every move.

Alhassan exclusively told GHANAsoccernet: “It’s true I have gone into oblivion for long time but I wanted to relax and stay away from football for some time and I decided to come back and play for United when they showed interest and trust in me.”

“For now I woulnd’t be drawn into any thinking of playing for a national team or even a top flight club because I know my strength.

”I only prefer to be here and enjoy myself because actually I can’t feature for any top flight club with this current form.”

Shilla also had some reserved words for his former club Asante Kotoko which he referred to as a ‘club of his heart’.

“I will beg with you to kindly use your medium to let all the Kotoko family to know that Shilla is still around.

Even though I don’t grant interviews I still have them in my heart and I don’t go a day without thinking about their well being because of the love they showed to me.”

Alhassan enjoyed a fruitful three-year spell with the Ghanaian giants before moving to Gabon and signing for Real Tamale United two seasons ago.
