Shake up to hit Ghana's CHAN technical team

Ghana’s CHAN team could see a change in technical direction following the elevation of coach Akwasi Appiah to the Black Stars.

Appiah was made coach of the local Black Stars during his time as an assistant to Goran Stevanovic in the A team, the Black Stars.

The former Ghana captain however emerged the substantive coach of the Black Stars following the departure of the Serbian trainer but still remained the head coach of the CHAN team.

And though former coach Milovan Rajevac served as the substantive boss for both sides in 2009, the Ghana FA will be considering a change this term presumably because of the increasing work load at the Black Stars level.

“For now it is still Mr. Kwasi Appiah but it is likely there might be some considerations for a change or a recommendation for the reassignment of another person but for now it still remains Mr. Akwasi Appiah,” Ghana’s CHAN team chairman Fred Pappoe told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Ghana will battle Benin next June in the ultimate qualifier for one of three slots up for grabs in West Zone B.
