Seven to review GHALCA'S constitution

Accra, Dec 11, GNA - A seven-member Committee has been formed by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to review its constitution to suit modern trends of football.

The seven, Kofi Manu, Kwame Amoa Bossompim, Walter Yankah, Kwaku Ayiah, Vincent Sowah Odoi Tei, Oloboi Commodor and Samuel Williams has three months to finish their work.

Joseph Yaw Appiah, Chairman of GHALCA told the GNA Sports 93we expect the Committee to do a perfect job that will further propel the Association to the desired destination=94.

The Committee was formed at GHALCA's annual general meeting which also settled on building a multi-purpose camping facility to serve the purpose of Clubs.

The GHALCA General Assembly which is scheduled for January will decide on the location for the project and will have training pitches among other facilities.

Appiah told the GNA Sports that the General Assembly will also decide on the date for the 2007 Top Four tourney, which often serves as the platform for the quartet to represent Ghana at the next Confederation of African Football's (CAF) inter clubs competitions. The meeting, he said, will also discuss crucial issues including the welfare of the Premiership Clubs.

The GHALCA Chairman said his outfit has signed an agreement with the National Sports Council (NSC) that will ensure they benefit from some of the facilities at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra currently under renovation.

The GHALCA outlet was demolished to give way to the renovation of the stadium which serves as one of the four venues for the 2008 Cup of African Nations to be staged in Ghana.
