Seven day soccer coaching course opens

A seven-day coaching course jointly organised by the Global Sports Academy and Holland Football Association opened in Accra on Tuesday under the instructions of Mr Matheus H.M. Derks of the Royal Netherlands Football Association.

The course, which is the intermediate level in soccer would take the 30 participants through both practical and theoretical aspects of coaching including football learning and coaching process, match reading and communication as well as match analysis. Certificates of participation would be presented to the participants after the course.

Speaking to GNA Sports, Mr Patrick Aidoo, Vice President of the Global Soccer Academy said the basic aspect of the course was held in Kumasi recently and that this one is a follow up. He said the courses are aimed at training young people and equipping them with coaching skills for them to help in the development of soccer in the country. He said the Academy has programmes for some of the participants to undertake further courses in Denmark while others would go on attachment programmes.
