Semi-final day at Youth Champs

Two fiercely-fought games are in prospect as Ghana face South Africa and Cameroon take on Nigeria in Wednesday's semi-finals of the African Youth Championship in Rwanda.

By reaching the semi-finals, the four teams have already qualified for the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt in September.

South Africa have played attractive football, and a free-flowing game against Ghana is expected.

Black Satellites captain Dede Ayew is confident that his team will come out on top.

"It will be tough and a difficult game, because South Africa are a very good team," he told BBC Sport.

"If we stay focussed we can win this game without any problem."

Nigeria qualified at Egypt's expense after a 3-0 win over Ivory Coast in their final group game, where senior team coach Shaibu Amodu was drafted in to strengthen the technical team.

Ladan Bosso remains in charge of the Flying Eagles, and he concedes that improvement will be need against Cameroon.

"We have to be more cohesive and play collectively as a team at this stage," he said.
