Goalkeeper’s trainer of the Black satellites, Najaho Issah has tipped Wa All Stars’ Richard Ofori to be the future number one goalie for the Black Stars.

Najaho dared the lanky goalie to build on his physical qualities to become the best goalkeeper domestically.

Richard Ofori was given a late call-up by Avram Grant in the Stars’ 7-1 mauling of Mauritius in Accra after a series of stellar performances with Wa All Stars.

According to Najaho, “naturally, Ofori is blessed with features of a very good goalkeeper. His height is complemented by his flexibility and acrobatic nature, so all he needs is to coordinate these features to become the nation’s number one man in-between the sticks. Above all these natural gifts, is the boy’s work attitude at the training ground, which is the reason for his rise in fortunes. He fights and wants to impress you by doing his work."

“If Richard maintains his current work ethic and hardwork, I don’t see any reason why he cannot unseat anybody between the Black Stars goal post.Combining communication with clear vision of the game, Richard seems to have learnt the trade faster than we expected and I believe he will hit his peak very soon."

“All he wants is the platform to show his qualities to the Ghanaian football fraternity. Not many goalkeepers are blessed with the natural qualities of Ofori and even those with his qualities easily drop along the line. He certainly is a threat to the current crop of goalkeepers in the country.”

Richard Ofori joined Wa All Stars as a direct replacement for Robert Dabuo, who left for Ashgold after over 5 years with the northern premier league campaigners.
