Satellites crush into finals of FIFA U-20 World Cup

Cairo, Oct 14, GNA - An 81st minute thunderbolt of a shot from Abeiku Quansah was all that Ghana's Satellites required to ride on a 3-2 victory over Hungary in a cagey semi final game played at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Ghana survived a late comeback from Hungary to book their place in th= e final that has pit them against Brazil.
A first half brace from Dominic Adiyiah sent Ghana into the lead in the first 30 minutes as the Satellites served notice of their intent early enough. As early as the ninth minute, Mohammed Rabiu unleashed a right foote= d shot that sailed over the bar and a minute later Adiyiah who has now scor= ed eight goals to lead the pack for the golden boot made amends with the ope= ner in the 10th minute. Ayew pounced on to dribble past Goalkeeper, Peter Gulacsi and slid it towards the net for an advancing Adiyiah to bundle it over the line befor= e Presinger could seize the opportunity of clearance. The African Champions were in control from then on and soon a second=
was to follow when Samuel Inkoom's measured cross from the right was met by Adiyiah who headed home to consolidate the lead before the break.
Hungary returned from the break the better side after making two changes which saw Presinger and an injured Krisztain Nemeth replaced by Balazs Megyeri and Roland Varga respectively. The changes also saw Andras Gosztonyi move into a more advanced role and he almost pulled one back for Hungary in the 48th minute when he drove a shot just across the face of goal. Just after 70 minutes, Marko Futacs replaced captain Zsolt Korcsmar a= nd the substitute's impact was instantly telling.
Andras Simon picked out Fatacs in the box and the striker made no mistake by connecting lowly which beat goalkeeper Daniel Agyei. Hungary poured forward after the goal and Ghana took a temporary advantage when Adiyiah raced deep in midfield to pick a ball which he squared neatly to Opoku Agyemang who had just replaced captain Dede Ayew. Agyeman found an advancing Quansah on the right side of the box and t= he midfielder unleashed a thunderbolt that came off the underside of the crossbar to restore Ghana's two goal advantage with nine minutes to go
The Satellites from then enjoyed a brief cruise till a defensive lapse from David Addy allowed Hungary back into the game. The defender dealt poorly with Megyeri first touch and the striker took advantage of the full back's slip to squeeze past Agyei for the Europeans second goal. With the advantaged narrowed, Ghana lived dangerously and when a sense of a breather arrived their way it was Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu who rattled the crossbar with a ferocious right footed shot two minutes into added time.
