Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Saanie Daara has backed the nomination of Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuje as Ghana's new Sports Minister-designate.
The former BBC journalist extolled the virtues of the Odododiodioo constituency Member of Parliament and said he has no doubt about the capabilities of the former Sports journalist.

"I would like to use your medium to commend and congratulate him [Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuje] on his nomination as Ghana's new Sports Minister", he told Dunkwa-On-Offin's Solar Fm, Saturday.

"I have no doubt about his capabilities having worked with him as a senior colleague with enormous experience in the inky industry", he stressed.

"Having known him personally, I believe he would make the most of the opportunity presented to him by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and discharge his duties creditably to repose the confidence reposed in him by the President", he said.

The FA's Communications Capo also appealed to him to adopt a consultative approach in the discharge of his duties.

"I would like to appeal to him to collaborate with the GFA on any matters concerning our national football teams and our football in general so that together we would all work with a common purpose and goal", he ended.

Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuje would be Ghana's 8th Sports Minister in seven years should his nomination be approved by Parliament' Vetting Committe.
