Legendary Ghanaian defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has hailed Baba Rahman and Andre Ayew following their recent moves to Schalke and West Ham United respectively.

Rahman joined Schalke 04 after a difficult period with Chelsea while Andre Ayew joined West Ham United in a club record deal.

Kuffour says both players have made significant progress in their careers by making those moves.

“It is good, we couldn’t see African players move to the big Leagues at our time but is good we are seeing them moving to some of the top Leagues,” he told Citi FM.

“When you have Dede Ayew move from Swansea City to West Ham then it tells you that in football you need to start from a low profile and get to the top.

“Baba Rahman started with Greuther Furth, went to Augsburg, Chelsea and back to Germany to join Schalke], I don’t think is bad.”

The two players have already made their debuts for their respective Clubs.
