Sammy Kuffuor Lands Deal With Roma

Ghanaian international, Samuel Osei Kuffuor has finally landed a new deal with an Italian Club A.S. Roma. The Bayern Munich defender joined the Italian Club on a free transfer and it has been suggested that this move will certainly be his final swansong as far as his career as a footballer is concerned.

Kuffuor has signed a three-year contract with Roma and this puts to rest speculations about his move to Inter Milan, Juventus and other premiership Clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle Utd.

The stalwart defender originally joined Bayern from Italy while still in his teens and went on to win Ghana's Footballer of the year award for 1998 and 1999 and was the runner-up for African Footballer of the year in 1999 and 2001.

Roma will feature in next season's UEFA Cup and have signed on a few players including Sammy Kuffuor to help them progress into the bigger event of the champion league and improve the teams standing in the Serie A.
Kuffuor has been with Bayern Munich for a loyal 12 years winning the Champions League with them in 2001 but has returned to Italy (Roma) where he is expected to play alongside seasoned players like Francesco Totti, Christian Panucci and Antonio Cassano.
