Sadat back to training

Etoile du Sportive and Black Meteors Striker Sadat Bukari is back with the team at training after a brief injury lay off. The striker who sustained a groin injury four weeks ago at training got back after Etoile’s medical staff declared him fit to train on Tuesday.

Sadat in an interview with allghanasoccer.com from his base in Tunisia says, he is very happy to be back after spending some time in the stands.

“I really thank God for helping me come back again. I was expected to sit out for about six weeks but I had recovered so early to continue to play the game i like best. I know it is not my strength and I have to say thank you to the people who helped with my quick recovery, the player said”

“Injuries are part of the game and as a footballer you would have to expect that but no player want to be injured very often. Every player’s aim is to stay fit and play more games for his Club and Country”

Sadat who signed a three year contract worth about one million US dollars ($1M) with Etoile from Kpando Heart of Lions was a member of Coach David Duncan’s Under 17 squad that won silver in Gambia in 2005 and played in the FIFA Under17 World Cup in Peru later on in the year. The player also had some brief spell with West Ham United in England and Beitar Jerusalem in Israel.

Sadat is one of the naturally gifted attackers and his eyes for goals are phenomenal. The player exhibited this last year when he returned from Israel to help Heart of Lions placed fourth in the 2006/2007 league season. Sadat's goal scoring ability has also made him rise very fast to the level that he is now after playing for all the junior teams in the Ghana.

He was invited to play in the Black Stars Friendly against Senegal but the injury he sustained during that time ruled him off from joining the Senior National Team. “I was looking forward for the game before I got injured and now that I am back on the field, I would work very hard to catch the eyes of the Coach again he said”

Sadat is expected to play a competitive match in two weeks time and Black Stars Coach Claude Leroy has described him as a “Morden striker” and says he holds the key to Ghana’s success in years to come.
