RtD U-18’s thrash BK Hacken 4:1 in Gothia Cup

Right to Dream’s U-18 team confirmed their status as Group 4 winners in the Boys B17 Class at the ongoing Gothia Cup in Sweden in style, beating BK Hacken 4:1 in their last group game on Wednesday, 17th July, 2013.

The U-18’s had already secured their qualification to the next stage of the tournament going into the game, after beating HJK Helsinki 1:0 following their opening day 2:0 victory over Landskrona BoIS.

Striker Yaw Yeboah opened the scores in the 11th minute before Divine Naah doubled the lead six minutes later.

Hacken attempted to stage a revival pulling a goal back in the 23rd minute, but Yaw Yeboah scored his second goal and Divine Naah put the icing on the cake with another goal.

Naah is RtD’s leading striker at the tournament, scoring three goals in three matches. The boys B17 Class is made of six groups of four teams each. Gareth Henderby’s team are set to play Mjällby AIF in their next game on Thursday.

The Gothia Cup is the largest international youth tournament in the world which brings together about 1,600 teams from over 70 nations.

Interestingly, a former RtD graduate, Abdul Majeed Waris, played for BK Hacken last season, winning the Swedish league goal king award.
