Referee Kotey for Coton Sport-JSK game

Accra, April 4, GNA - Ghanaian match officials will be at the centre stage of this weekend's CAF Champions league 1/8th stage first leg encounter between Coton Sport Garoua of Cameroon and Jeunesse Sportif Kabylie.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports from the secretariat of the continent's soccer controlling body, Confederation of African Football (CAF) indicates that FIFA referee Alex Neequaye Kotey will steer the affairs from the middle.

He will be assisted on the lines by Haruna Ayuba and George Saijah. Cameroonian referee Gambo Abdoulaye will be the fourth referee with Togolese Komlan Assogbavi as the Match Commissioner. This will be the second time in a fortnight that the trio will be handling a major assignment after the GHANA 2008 qualifier between Gambia and Guinea.

Prior to that, the trio had been at the helm during the CAF Champions league 1/16th qualifier between Congolese side, Etoile du Congo and St George of Ethiopia in Brazzaville last February. In a related development, former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lepowura Alhaji Mohammed Nurudeen Jawula has been appointed the Match Commissioner for the CAF Champions league tie between Nasarawa United of Nigeria and Al Hilal of Sudan, scheduled for Lafia, Nigeria.
