Referee Agbovi to participate in UEFA Course

Accra, March 3, GNA - Mr Albert Agbovi, Chairman of the Ghana Referees' Committee has been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to attend this year's UEFA Regional Referees Instructors' Course in Vienna, Austria. An invitation letter from CAF signed by Abdel Moneim Hussein, Director of Football Development sighted by the GNA Sports said the programme begins from Monday, March 13 to the 15th. The aim of the course is to enhance the network of international referee instructors.

The letter said Mr Agbovi "would be expected to take full active role, participating in the course, including its working groups and discussions among others."

Mr Agbovi, a CAF instructor, distinguished himself in his 22-year career as a referee, which spanned from 1968 to 1990. He was promoted to FIFA status in 1982, where he had a healthy working relationship with colleagues around the globe for eight years. Mr Abgovi is currently the National Referees' Instructor and has had the privilege of organizing courses at the intermediate and high level divisions for referees world-wide.
