Red Lions beat Young Stars in Second Division match

Sreso, (B/A) March 1, GNA - Sreso Red Lions were fully

stretched by visiting Kwaeprete Young Stars before they

managed a narrow 2-1 win in their Brong-Ahafo Second

Division Football League match played at the Sreso Mota Park

on Sunday. The first half time score was 1-1. It was the home team thats took the lead in the 12th minute

through their striker Kasim Shaibu but Young Stars quickly

counter-attacked and got the equalizer through Samuel Baah in

the 39th minute. The game from then became a ding-dong affair till the end

of the first half. Both sides showed real determination for victory in the

second half as their attackers bombarded their opposing goal

areas but it was slippery Shaibu who increased the tally for his

side in the 85th minute. In another league encounter played at the Goaso Town

Park, Nananom F/C of Goaso drew 1-1 with Kenyasi

Hoffenham F/C. The visitors drew first blood in the 46th minute through

Kwabena Dubik within the extra time of the first half. Sensing humiliation, Nananom resumed the second half

with an all-attacking approach, forcing their opponents to play

defensively to protect their thin goal lead. Hoffenham's defensive strategy proved to be negative

when Kofi Annor of Nananom scored in the 61st minute to

level matters. At Akwasiase local Danica F/C beat visiting Duayaw-

Nkwanta Atweaban F/C 2-0. Both goals came in the first half

with Alex Agyei scoring in the 27th minute while Williams

Thompson increased the score in the 36th minute. Tano Ajax also of Duayaw-Nkwanta played a well

determined game to hold their home counterparts, Brosankro

Mighty Stars to a goalless drawn game. 0
