Razak Pimpong hangs his boots

The former Black Stars striker has finally said good bye to active football after a long stint in Denmark

Former Ghana striker, Razak Pimpong, has finally quit football after a long playing career which included 13 years abroad.

Pimpong, who played at the 2006 World Cup officially parted ways with his last club, FF Viborg in Denmark late last month before announcing his retirement.

He helped the club to qualify for the Danish Super Liga for the first time in their history last season.

The 30-year-old played for Accra Great Olympics before moving to Europe in 2000 where he first joined FC Midtjylland and later played for FC Copenhagen, Viking, Aeslund, Egyptian side El Masry and finally Viborg.

“In Africa when you retire from football people easily forget about you so you have to do something essential.

“Having some projects in mind to do after your playing career is the best,” Pimpong told Goal Ghana in a recent interview during Michael Essien’s Charity game in Accra.
