Ransford Osei must justify his inclusion- Jerry Asare

Former Ghana U-20 goal poacher Ransford Osei is poised to re-launch his faltering career at Asante Kotoko after agreeing to join the reigning Glo Premier league champions.

He must however work hard to earn a regular place in the team, according to management member of the Porcupine Warriors Jerry Asare.

“He (Osei) is not going to be an automatic choice because of his past record. We are building a team to defend the league crown and make a huge impact in the CAF Champions league, so he must work for his place in the team. Ultimately it comes down to his performances at training and during games. If the technical team feels he is in good shape why not?” Mr. Asare said.

Osei, a 2009 African Youth Championship goal king, has struggled to make an impact abroad after showing promise.

Last season, he played for South African Premier League side Bloemfontein Celtic where he failed to earn game time.

The 21-year-old has featured for Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, FC Twente and Granada.

Kotoko are currently training in Adukrom in the Eastern Region of Ghana as they continue their preparations for the Glo title defense later this year.
