Ghana defender Baba Abdul-Rahman is set to arrive in London in the coming hours to undergo a medical at Chelsea after a €25m deal was reached with Augsburg on Monday, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The English champions Chelsea will pay €20m upfront for the right-back with the remaining €5m to be paid depending on the appearances the Ghana international makes for the Blues.

The right-back agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions worth €3m a season become the most expensive transfer for Chelsea so far this summer.

He will join Radamel Falcao, Nathan, Asmir Begovic and Danilo Pantic as the club’s new signing this summer.

This agreement with Augsburg paves the way for Baba Rahman to travel to London latest by Tuesday to undergo the medical with the English giants before the deal is sealed.

The two sides returned to the negotiation table on Sunday after talks broke down following the German side’s insistence on €25m as the transfer sum.
