Augsburg claim that Baba Rahman’s absence from their friendly match against Toulouse over the weekend was due to a muscular injury.

The Ghana defender was thought to being on his way to England to undergo medicals ahead of his expected move to Chelsea.

Reports are rife that the English champions have had a €25m bid accepted by Augsburg for Baba Rahman.

His absence from the pre-season friendly on Saturday thus fueled reports that the Ghanaian was on his way to join up with his new club.

Augsburg however released a statement that Baba Rahman was excluded from the friendly game because of a muscular injury.

It is unknown whether the injury suffered by the ex Greuther Furth man will hamper his imminent move to Chelsea.
