Rabiu cools Ghana favourites talk

Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed wants fans to be careful how they rate the country's Afcon 2017 qualifying opponents.

The Black Stars have been drawn with Rwanda, Mozambique and Mauritius in a draw done on Wednesday in Cairo.

Having been part of the team that came painfully close to winning the tournament but placing second at the last edition earlier this year, the player is in a good position to offer this word of caution.

“It’s a long way yet to even reach the Afcon. Let’s set a target when the time is right,” Mohammed, based in Russia, said on Twitter.

It has been over 33 years since the last Afcon triumph for the storied west Africans and another quest begins in June when the qualifiers begin.
