RTU have no relegation worries - Board Secretary

Mr. Abdul Kadri Ibrahim the board secretary of Real Tamale United has stated that his team is not under any threat of relegation despite their present position on the standings.

Speaking to GNA Sports in an interview after the Liberty-RTU League match at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr. Ibrahim said the rest of their matches would be played at their favourite Kaladan Park in Tamale and they would ensure they win them to remain in the Star Premier League next year.

The secretary, however, attributed RTU's dismal performance this year to frustration from match officials, adding "this year league has seen the worst officiating and this has had a negative impact on the morale of my players."

Mr.Kadri Ibrahim said due to the long distance his team has to travel to honour away matches, most of the players get tired before they get to their destination hence their poor performance in most of their away matches.

In the match itself, RTU were humiliated by a 1-3 defeat by Liberty in what can spell doom for the Northerners.
