Project my players not management - Otumfuo

The Asantehene and owner of Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called on the media to project players and coaches of the club more than members of management.

The monarch, speaking after officially inaugurating the club’s newly constituted Board of Directors at the Manhyia Palace last week, noted that in the English Premier League, not many people know about management members of Chelsea and Manchester United for example.

He stressed: "I will urge journalists to project the footballers and coaches instead of directors and management members. You always talk about Mourinho and his players and not Chelsea directors. How many people know the Chief Executives of Chelsea and Manchester United? They are not as projected as the Rooneys so apply the same for my team.”

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also cautioned journalists against taking money from club officials in a bid to hype them, noting that it is the players that need to be projected.

“Don’t take money from any official and hype them; project the players," he added.
