Prez Mahama keeps touch with Black Stars

President John Mahama has been keeping tabs on the Black Stars' readiness for Friday night's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

The president, according to Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Ghana's Minister of Sports, is been filled in with the team's preparations ahead of the game in Omdurman.

"President Mahama has been in touch to ask how the team has been doing here in Sudan and we have assured him that all is fine and we will get the victory," the minister said.

For the minister, the team's dedication to the task ahead has filled him with confidence of a Ghana win.

"The dedication that these players have shown to the country is outstanding. The discipline level is very high and that is key to ensuring that we win the game.

"We have provided the important training programme for the team and from what I have seen from the camping in Ethiopia to this place I am sure we will win the match.

"We have brought all the bonuses for the Black Stars and have prepared the team to ensure that they are in good shape for the match," he told ghanafa.org.

A win for Ghana at the Al-Merreikh Stadium alter the log in Group D for some hours ahead of the other fixture between leaders, Zambia and Lesotho on Saturday.
