President Kufuor wishes Black Stars well

Accra, Oct 6, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has sent a goodwill message to the Black Stars ahead of their World Cup decider Against Cape Verde at Priar on Saturday, October 8. He said the entire nation is solidly behind the team and therefore tasked the players to seal their qualification with a total victory that would bring the "Operation Six Points" launched during the qualifying campaign into fruition.

"The entire nation is behind the team and the world at large has already cheered our near qualification. This is the hour to give meaning to this wish by triumphing convincingly over Cape Verde", he said. President Kufuor maintained that he has in store appreciable incentives and motivation for the team to enable them deliver the Germany 2006 ticket without disappointment.

Ghanaians, he said, "expect the same level of commitment, discipline and commitment that has been shown by the team so far to be at its peak in the Saturday decider".

The Stars enter Saturday's game needing only a draw to seal their qualification to a debut World Cup appearance in the competition billed for next summer in Germany.
