Premier league fails to make top 100

...Vietnam, Sudan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan beat Ghana

The world ranking of the strongest national leagues has been determined annually since 1991 by the IFFHS on the base of all national (championship, FA cup) and (inter)continental results of the clubs. This principle has proved to be a very sensitive and objective indicator.

The world ranking has produced the following:

1 The English Premier League is clearly the strongest league of the world, followed of the Spanish Primera Divisi?n and Italian Serie A.

2 Brazil?s Serie A is again ahead of Argentina?s Primera Divisi?n as the strongest league in South America, followed by Colombia, Chile and Paraguay.

3 The German Bundesliga, after five years, has again overtaken the French elite league and is now as the fourth-strongest league in Europe now.

4 Mexico?s Primera Divisi?n certainly belongs to the ?Top 10? national leagues in the world and is by a large distance the strongest league of the CONCACAF, followed by the leagues of Costa Rica, Honduras and the USA.

5 Tunisia has moved further ahead of Egypt as the strongest league in Africa, followed by the national leagues of Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Sudan, South Africa and Ivory Coast.

6. Japan has the strongest league in Asia, followed by the national leagues of Jordan, Singapore, Iran, Uzbekistan, Lebanon and the Republic of Korea.

7 There has been an explosion of performance in 2007 by the national leagues of Colombia, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Jordan, Cameroon, Singapore, Nigeria, Iran, Finland, Lebanon and Sudan.

8 A falling off in performance during 2007 by the national leagues of the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Morocco, Ireland, Latvia, Angola, Albania and Azerbaijan.
