Power protest against Dawu

Power F/C are to launch a formal protest to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over alleged inhuman treatment meted out to them by Dawu Youngsters when the two sides clashed in their 22nd Premier League match at the Dawu Stadium last Sunday.

Eric Michel, Team Manager of Power, told GNA Sports in Accra last Monday that they (Power) were prevented from using the main gate to the stadium and were, subsequently, compelled to pay to honour the match.

Asked what might have necessitated this action, the Team Manager said he was later hinted by an official of Dawu that the action was in retaliation for a similar treatment handed down to Dawu in their first round encounter at the Koforidua Park. Mr Michel has vehemently denied this allegation.

He said Dawu?s action was an attempt to frustrate and intimidate the Power boys before the match, which, in the long run they, succeeded in doing.

"We were hurled with bagged water (pure water) and other dangerous objects as we paid our way into the stadium," he said.

The Team Manager said the atmosphere during the match was very intimidating, which reflected largely in the way the referee handled the game, alleging that the lone goal they conceded was very doubtful.

When GNA Sports contacted the offices of Mr Seth Yeboah, Chief Executive of Dawu, the agency was informed that he had travelled to Takoradi.
