Power FC stays put in the premiership

[League page
] Koforidua based Power FC maintained their premiership status by defeating Division One League campaigners Ebusua Dwarfs by a lone goal in a play off match decided at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Dwarfs who were the favourites to qualify for the elite league even before the start of the national middle league were the first to make attempts at scoring in the first five minutes but they messed up their chances.

The electricity boys took advantage of a free kick in the 8th minute to go ahead when Eric Sefa Boateng connected with a glancing header to register the only goal of the day.

The game became unproductive for the rest of the first half as both sides failed to create clear-cut chances.

On resumption, not even pep talks given to Dwarfs during recess by Mr. Ebow Quansah, President of SWAG, Miss Christine Churcher, Minister of State in charge of Girl Child Education and the presence of former Ghanaian international, Richard Ackon could ginger the Cape Coast boys to get the equalizer.

Afedzie Stanley could have put Dwarfs on level terms in the 58th minute after referee Mike Amedior had awarded them a penalty but keeper Alfred Mills denied them the equalizer with a great save.

Dwarfs however put in a last minute effort to come on level terms but Accra Hearts of Oak bound Daniel Coleman was a pillar in defence for Power as he organized his colleagues to keep the Cape Coasters at bay till the final whistle.
