Polo: Kissi Boateng is Ghana’s left-back solution

Former Black Stars winger Mohammed Ahmed Polo says he believes ex-Berekum Chelsea defender Richard Kissi-Boateng has the ability to solve Ghana’s left-back woes.

The TP Mazembe rearguard lasted the entire duration of the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Sudan over the weekend.

The Black Stars have struggled to find a permanent left-back since Addoquaye Pappoe left the scene after the 2006 Fifa World Cup in Germany.

Over 10 players including Nana Kwesi Asare, Daniel Opare, Lee Addy, Hans Adu Sarpei, and Massawudu Alhassan amongst others have been tried in the position without huge success.

But the 1978 African Cup of Nations Winner told Goal.com Ghana the 23-year-old should be given more playing time to justify his inclusion.

“He did well though there were some mistakes… but I think he should be given more playing time for him to adapt himself,” the former Hearts of Oak winger said.
