Andre and Jordan Ayew dominated the headlines among Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend with the brothers scoring against each other in the English Premier League and Andre winning the family battle.

Manchester City youngster Yaw Yeboah marked his debut appearance in the French Ligue 1 after coming off the bench to play for Lille in their game against Olympique Marseille.

Meanwhile there were goals for Ebenezer Assifuah, Sulley Muniru in Romania and Osei Barnes in Portugal.

Former Arsenal youngster Zak Ansah netted a brace for Newport County in the English lower-tier while Black Stars players John Boye and Rabiu Mohammed were both sent off in their respective games.

ENGLAND

Brothers Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew scored against each other in their when Swansea City beat Aston Villa 2-1. Jordan headed Villa into the lead with a 62nd-minute goal before Andre won the game for Swansea with his 5th goal of the season.

Leicester City picked a narrow 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. Utility Ghana defender Jeffrey Schlupp played the entire minutes of the game Leicester City. Youngster Joe Dodoo was not in the Leicester squad for the game.

Defender Baba Rahman came off the Chelsea bench to play the last 4 minutes for Chelsea in their 2-1 loss at West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

English-born Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah was not in the Watford team for their 2-0 away triumph against Stoke City.

Christian Atsu once again failed to make the Bournemouth squad for their 5-1 home demolition by Tottenham Hotspur.

Kwame Thomas came off the Blackpool bench to play the last 13 minutes of regulation time in their 2-0 win against Crewe Alexandria.

Wycombe Wanderers played a 1-1 draw with Carlisle United. Derek Asamoah came off the bench to play for Carlisle but former Olympique Marseille forward Kevin Osei was not in their squad for the game.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris recovered from injury to play the entire minutes for Lorient and assisted their goal in their 1-1 draw with Stade Rennes on Saturday.

In the Ligue 2, defender Jonathan Mensah watched from the stands as his Evian TG side slipped to a 2-1 loss against Creteil.

NETHERLANDS

Youngster Rodney Antwi could not make the FC Utrecht squad for their 2-1 away triumph over PEC Zwolle.

FC Twente slipped to a painful 3-1 home loss against PSV Eindhoven. On-loan Manchester City midfielder Thomas Agyepong played 62 minutes for Twente while Shadrach Eghan was unused by Twente.

FC Groningen managed to hold NEC Nijmegen to a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening. Marcel Appiah missed the game with injury but Johan Kappelholf played in central defence for NEC.

In other games Black Stars striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom assisted the opening goal for Roda JC Kerkrade in their 2-1 home loss against Excelsior Rotterdam. Dutch-born attacker Edwin Gyasi came off the bench to play for Roda.

Derrick Luckassen played the entire 90 minutes for AZ Alkmaar in their 3-1 away slip at Feyenoord with former Liverpool star Dick Kuyt scored all three goals.

Manchester City loanee Divine Naah was not in the NAC Breda team that hammered Sparta Rotterdam 4-0.

Attacker Johnathan Opoku Agyemang played in central attacking role for VVV Venlo in their 1-0 away win against Den Bosch.

Leeroy Owusu lasted the entire duration of the game Jong Ajax in their 3-0 victory over Fortuna Sittard. Striker Elton Acolatse was not in the Ajax squad for the game.

In other games Ghana U23 forward Raymond Gyasi played the full 90 minutes for Emmen in their 2-0 away win over Volendam.

GERMANY

Gifted Ghanaian youth midfielder Gideon Jung returned to the Hamburg SV first team squad but watched the entire game from the bench as they beat TSG Hoffenheim 1-0 on Friday.

Defender Daniel Opare failed to make the Augsburg squad when they suffered a 5-1 loss against Borussia Dortmund.

In the Bundesliga II, youngster Manfred Osei-Kwadwo could not make the Kaiserslautern squad for their 2-0 loss at Karlsruhe.

Davidson Drobo-Ampem was not in the St Pauli team that won narrowly against Freiburg.

Ghanaian defensive pair of Joseph Baffo and Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh played for Eintracht Braunschweig who beat Heidenheim 1-0.

Wakaso Mubarak missed Las Palmas’s 0-0 draw with Villarreal due to suspension.

Thomas Partey failed to make Atletico Madrid squad for their 2-0 win against Valencia in the La Liga on Sunday night.

In the Segunda Division, goalkeeper Razak Braimah conceded three goals as he manned the post for Cordoba in their 3-2 win against Deportivo Alaves.

Kassim Nuhu watched from the bench as his Real Mallorca side posted a narrow 1-0 win over Almeria who had Ghanaian midfielder Fatau Mohammed in their midfield.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Anaba sat on the bench for Elche in their 0-0 draw with Leganes.

ITALY

Bologna claimed a 2-1 win over ten-man Carpi. Isaac Cofie played the entire game in midfield for Carpi while former Inter Milan midfielder Godfred Donsah also played the full regulation minutes.

Palermo and Inter Milan played out a 1-1 draw. Sweden international of Ghanaian descent Robin Quaison came off the Palermo bench to play the last 13 minutes for Palermo. Young defender Bright Gyamfi could not make the Inter Milan squad for the game.

AC Milan snatched a narrow 2-1 win over Sassuolo who finished the game with ten men. Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan was not in the Sassuolo squad for the game.
